What the columns mean

Working figures, rounded for classroom use. CO₂ and population are for 2024, from the Global Carbon Budget via Our World in Data. They cover fossil fuels and industry only, so land clearing is left out and countries such as Brazil and Indonesia look smaller than their full footprint. Consumption CO₂ is for 2023 and is blank where no estimate exists. Electricity figures are for 2024 from Ember and the Energy Institute via Our World in Data, except Ukraine, which is 2022. Fossil share of all energy is 2024, from the Energy Institute, and is blank where it is not published. Warming is the 2016 to 2025 average temperature over land against the 1951 to 1980 average, from FAOSTAT using NASA GISTEMP. Singapore is blank because that record stops. Vulnerability, exposure, sensitivity, capacity gap and readiness are 2024 scores from the ND-GAIN Country Index, University of Notre Dame. GNI per person is World Bank PPP for 2025, or 2024 for Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates. Cuba is blank. CO₂ per person, the two share columns, change since 2000, fossil electricity, low carbon 2024 and progress are calculated from the columns beside them, so the numbers always agree with each other. Treat the table as your one source of truth for this task.
